Not as high quality as the original.

I had the same toy rifle as a kid. I was given mine sometime in the early 90s.

The quality of the newer version is nowhere near as good as that of the original.
The receiver on the new version is cheap thin plastic, whereas on the older one it was metal.

The plastic of the magazine feels far flimsier and thinner than the original.

Finally the stock on the newer version is extremely rough, like they just applied a thin layer of paint over some Home Depot quality dimensional lumber. The older one looked to have at least been run through a sander or planer in order to prevent splinters before it was painted.

Overall fairly disappointing quality.

We will take your commentary into consideration during our quality check to make sure areas are sanded down correctly to prevent splinters.
